In short
Modules control which operational areas a Project exposes. Inventory works alone; Attendance depends on Attendees. Disabled modules disappear and reject API access.

Choose the smallest useful combination
Modules are optional so Projects do not become crowded with tools they never use.
- Attendees only: manage people and contact records.
- Attendees + Attendance: manage people, events, marking, and reports.
- Inventory only: manage equipment and lending without personal attendance data.
- All modules: use when one Project genuinely runs both programme and equipment operations.
Attendance depends on Attendees
Attendance records connect events to attendee records. Enabling Attendance therefore enables Attendees automatically.
- Enabling Attendance restores or enables Attendees first.
- Disabling Attendees also disables Attendance.
- Deleting Attendees data permanently deletes dependent Attendance data first.
- Inventory never depends on the other modules.
Understand module states
A module can be enabled, disabled with data retained, or disabled with its data removed.
- Enabled: visible in navigation and available through authorised APIs.
- Disabled, retained: hidden and blocked, but ready to restore.
- Disabled, empty: hidden and blocked with its operational records permanently removed.
Change modules safely
The Project Owner or authorised Admin can change module status. Permanent data removal remains Owner-only.
Step by step
- 1Tell active users about the planned change.
- 2Check whether any role is scoped only to the module.
- 3Choose retain unless deletion is a deliberate retention decision.
- 4Confirm navigation and access after the change.
- 5Update affected roles before the next operating session.

0/5Common questions
Why did Attendees turn on with Attendance?
Attendance needs attendee records, so Scoutzy enables the required dependency automatically.
Does disabling a module delete anything?
Only if the Owner explicitly chooses permanent deletion. The retain option hides and blocks the module without removing its records.
